Smokie - From Wishes to Kisses (2018)
    MP3@320kbps | 00:47:14 | 111.45 Mb | Cover

Soft Rock | Country: UK | Label: Marathon Media International
Originally formed in Yorkshire, England, in 1966, Smokie hit the British pop charts several times during the late '70s with updated psychedelic pop, influenced by the band's stay on Mickie Most's Rak Records as well as the writers of most of the band's hit material, Rak's Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman. Vocalist Chris Norman, bassist Terry Utley, guitarist Alan Silson, and drummer Ron Kelly had played in the Elizabethans, but formed the band Kindness in 1970. The quartet recorded many singles during the late '60s and early '70s, but failed to show any chart activity. By 1973, Kelly had left the band and was replaced by Pete Spencer.

In 1975, the band, signed to Rak Records, and billed as Smokey, hit number three in the U.K. with "If You Think You Know How to Love Me." After another Top Ten hit, "Don't Play Your Rock 'n' Roll to Me," Smokey became Smokie; during 1976, the group scored with three Top 20 hits, including the number five "Living Next Door to Alice." Smokie hit number five both in 1977 ("It's Your Life") and 1978 ("Oh Carol"), but the band's chart run ended by early 1980, and following 1982's Midnight Delight, they disbanded. Both Spencer and Norman continued to work at Rak during the '80s, writing hits for several groups; they re-formed Smokie in 1986, resurfacing with the LP My Heart Is True. Two more albums, All Fired Up and Greatest Hits Live, followed, with the group remaining active throughout the '90s, issuing new material as well as a number of hits collections. ~ John Bush & Al Campbell

Dire Straits - Six Blade Knife: The Magic Of Dire Straits (2018)
    EAC Rip | MP3@320 ~ 172 Mb
    Covers Included (JPG, 300 dpi)

Classic Rock | Unofficial Release | Chinese Dragon Music #DSM-08-054
Dire Straits were a British rock band formed in London in 1977 by Mark Knopfler (lead vocals and lead guitar), David Knopfler (rhythm guitar and backing vocals), John Illsley (bass guitar and backing vocals), and Pick Withers (drums and percussion). The band became one of the world's best-selling music artists, with records sales of over 100 million.

Their first hit single "Sultans of Swing", from their self-titled debut album, reached the top ten in the UK and US charts in 1978. They released hit singles in the 1980s, such as "Private Investigations" (1983), "Money for Nothing" (1985), and "Walk of Life" (1985). Their most commercially successful album was Brothers in Arms (1985), which has sold more than 30 million copies and was the first album to sell a million copies on the compact disc (CD) format. Dire Straits' sound was drawn from a variety of musical influences, including jazz, folk, and country, though mainly from the blues-rock of J. J. Cale. Their stripped-down sound contrasted with punk rock and demonstrated a roots rock influence that emerged from pub rock. Many of Dire Straits' compositions were melancholic.

According to the Guinness Book of British Hit Albums, Dire Straits have spent over 1,100 weeks on the UK albums chart, ranking fifth all-time. Brothers in Arms is the eighth-best-selling album in UK chart history. Their career spanned 15 years. They split in 1988, reformed in 1991, and disbanded again in 1995 after Mark Knopfler launched his solo career full-time. There were several changes in personnel over both periods, with Mark Knopfler and Illsley the only members who remained throughout the band's career. Dire Straits won four Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards (Best British Group twice), two MTV Video Music Awards, and various other music awards. The band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.

Santana - Cow Palace San Francisco 31st December 1975 (2018)
    MP3@320 kbps | Rock, Classic Rock, Pop | 1:22:00 | 1CD | 193 Mb

Santana was the musician who took it upon himself to fuse blues with latin jazz, creating a truly potent sound, particularly considering how latin music's beats were seen by North American audiences as nothing beyond dancefloor fodder. His mysticism and exotic nature helped him become a myth. Despite destroying that myth in the last 10 years, with a series of pathetic hits ripe for gringo radios, it's impossible to deny the enormous contribution he made in forming Latin America's musical identity.

Cream were a 1960s British rock power trio consisting of drummer Ginger Baker, guitarist/singer Eric Clapton and bassist/singer Jack Bruce. The group's third album, Wheels of Fire (1968), was the world's first platinum-selling double album. Cream is widely regarded as the world's first successful supergroup with sales of more than 15 million copies of their albums worldwide. Their music included songs based on traditional blues such as "Crossroads" and "Spoonful", and modern blues such as "Born Under a Bad Sign", as well as more current material such as "Strange Brew", "Tales of Brave Ulysses" and "Toad". This album includes a fantastic live recording made for Swedish radio in March 1967 and previously un-release BBC radio sessions. Bruce Springsteen - Live At The Roxy (2015)
    MP3@320 kbps - 251 Mb | 01:49:26
Classic Rock, Folk Rock, Singer-Songwriter | Label: FM In Concert

Bruce Springsteen AKA The Boss was a singer songwriter signed to Columbia records in the early seventies. Having recorded two critically well received albums (Greetings From Asbury Park and The Wild the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle) he broke through commercially worldwide with the album Born To Run which was released on the 25th August 1975. Whilst the album broke Bruce his relationship with his manager had soured to the extent that he was subsequently embroiled in litigation for two years and unable to record for over twelve months. This gave Bruce and the band the opportunity to hone their craft by playing extensively across the USA and also a well-documented appearance in the UK. This recording is the complete performance from a stint at The Roxy in Los Angeles in October 1975. The set was broadcast on radio and is considered to be one of the great live performances featuring songs from the recently released Born To Run album and also key songs from his previous two albums alongside some covers which he made his own in new arrangements. This album contains a radio performance of Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band from The Roxy Los Angeles. Includes complete Performance from the early Show at The Roxy. Proven Sales Record for Live Bruce Springsteen material.
