The chamber music of pianist-composer Anton Eberl (1765-1807) is one of the undiscoveredsecrets of Viennese Classicism.
At the beginning of his career Eberl had to put up with the doubtful flattery of seeing some of hisworks published under the name of Mozart (who was a friend and supporter) - and with Mozart's knowledge.
But Eberl's charming and elegant music deserves to be remembered in its own right: it engages inremarkably imaginative and experimental formal innovations.
These innovations develop the Viennese Classical style beyond the point at which Mozart had leftit, to a degree of refinement that led Eberl's contemporaries to prefer his compositions toBeethoven's.

...Old Jack's Bones is our 4th studio album capturing our passion and telling the tale of Old Time String-band Music and Appalachian Folk. This isolated music evolved up in the Blue Ridge Mountains as waves of settlers seeking their own land came down the Great Wagon Road from Pennsylvania into SW Virginia between 1730 & 1830. These Scotch-Irish and Germans met with English and African families that were heading west from the older coastal Tidewater settlements making the Blue Ridge the first American Frontier. This saw a blending of culture, rhythms and religion creating a new American sound with fiddle, banjo, dulcimer, ballads and tunes.
After touring these immigrant songs and stories to you over the last 7 years, we recently spent 5 weeks in the Blue Ridge Mountains rifling through museums, archives, venues, towns and universities for inspiration and confirmation that the tales we tell are true.. And we're glad to report that YES, 99.9% of our gathered knowledge is fact. It's evident our passion and thirst for seeking out the history and reviving these old timey songs is gaining momentum as we release this to you, our latest album, Old Jack's Bones.

Juice Newton spent most of the '90s as a concert act, staying out of the studio for years. As the decade drew to a close, she reunited with producer Richard Landis, the man who helmed the boards for her biggest hits, to record The Trouble With Angels. Unfortunately, the album wasn't a full-fledged comeback -- seven of the ten tracks were re-recordings of hits like "Angel of the Morning" and "Queen of Hearts," with only three songs being new to her repertoire. Presumably, this course was taken with the idea that it would remind audiences of why Newton was a star, but the lack of new material is nevertheless quite disappointing for longtime fans. That said, she's in fine voice on the record, and the album is hardly bad. It's just that it would have been nice if Newton had decided to make her comeback with an album that felt brand new, not like a retread.
