    MGB45'S ABBA videos

ABBA was a Swedish pop music group formed in Stockholm in 1972, consisting of Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid "Frida" Lyngstad. ABBA was also the first pop group from a non English-speaking country to enjoy consistent success in the charts of English-speaking countries. ABBA remains a fixture of radio play lists and is one of the world's best-selling bands, having sold over 375 million records worldwide, making them the fourth best-selling popular music artists in the history of recorded music. Here it is over 25 years since the band split up and they still sell two to three million records a year. With the huge success of the stage play "Mamma Mia" based on ABBA songs a whole new generation is getting introduced to their music. The group was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 15th, 2010.

    Here's a video of a performance of "Waterloo", the song they won the Eurovision contest on April 6th, 1974. ( 3:14 - 33.4MB )

How about those outfits? LOL!!! Gotta love Agnetha's red hot pants.

Thanks, for me it was the other way around, I missed them in the 70's. In April 2006, I was watching TV one night and saw the Biography channel had ABBA on. I remembered they were a group back in the 70's when they sang Dancing Queen and Fernando. Those were the only songs I had ever heard them sing. The Host made a comment that with ABBA's worldwide record sales of 370 million, only Elvis and the Beatles had sold more records than ABBA. I thought to myself, Wow, how could they sell that many records with only 2 songs of theirs that I had heard. They started playing all these songs that I hadn't heard before, and I liked them a lot as soon as I heard them. They never were that big over in the USA, as only DQ made it to Number 1, but the rest of the world was a totally different story. I went out and bought the ABBA Gold CD and since then they have become my favorite Pop group of all time.
