Hope nobody minds the addition of Megadeth to the poll, it was a crime not to have them there.

Favorite album by each band:

Judas Priest - Screaming For Vengeance
Metallica - Ride The Lightning
Dio - Holy Diver
Iron Maiden - The Number of The Beast
Anthrax - Spreading The Disease
Megadeth - Countdown To Extinction
Slayer - Reign In Blood
Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Pantera - The Great Southern Trendkill

I like Rammstein, but they're not as good as Metallica or Maiden were in the 80's. And they are not exactly Heavy Metal anyway...

Definatly my favorite band ever.

Banewolf

Unfortunately yes. Every German knows them - if he/she wants to or not!

No, the worst thing in German Music will always be Dieter Bohlen, then Scooter and then TH.

Yeah I missed the "other" box too.

priest is #1 but im a bit apprehensive since i dont really care for Rob's new stuff....and the tight blue leotard i sw him in! ...eeek
Its a toss up between megadeth and iron maiden i love both.
metallica's old stuff "kill em all" and "ride the lightning" are bad ass but the new stuff is too commercial. plus they were on the forefront with the recording industry in suing p2p sites and their users!

I was wondering the glam0ur gals and boys like to listen to some riffs and headbang. This thread can be the place to post everything related to it. I hope the topic hasn't been picked up.
Enjoy.

Nek_Romancer , nice to see that you have Evergrey on your list of favourites!
They are my absolute favourites among the "new" (they've actually been around a while) prog metal bands.
Actually they are on the top of my list regardless of genre.
I have all their albums and seen them many times here in sweden, they are in the studio as we speak,
looking forward to hear their new album.
Make a visit to the "Grey Area" http://www.evergrey.net/blog/ , if you haven't already.
It's a video blog with some funny studio reports. 8)

Iron Maiden are my favorite and have been for 20 years. Not on this list, but I also really like Dark Tranquillity, Dream Theater, Therion, and Opeth. American metal has gone down the drain. I am so ashamed of my countrymen! I do like a couple local bands, though: Brooklyn's Behold the Arctopus (an insanely fast instrumental band) and upstate NY's Genghis Tron ("Dead Mountain Mouth" is a ferociously heavy trio of singer, guitar, and electronics).

This is old school stuff. It's not that I dont like it but what about stuff like Korn, I know there arn't many truely great new school bands out there, mainly because they don't last past three albums, but then Metalica havn't done anything decent since the black album and how many did Sabbath do?

My faves Nine Inch Nails but that's a whole diffrent genre as far as most people are concerned. Personally I dont care cause its as heavey and fenetic and a darn site more applicable to my life than any of the traditional stuff.

Nut then again I have been listening to a lot of Pink Floyd lately, maybe I'm mellowing out, anyway here's one for the british rockers and metal heads, anyone remeber Skunk Anasi

Nek_Romancer

I've been tuning onto some old rock stuff these days, like Iron Maiden, which is always a pleasure. Best of the Beast I've been enjoying. Anybody collects cds?

03-28-2008, 05:39 AM
here's little idea of what i wake up with,

black label society, anthrax, metallica, black sabbath, sevendust, maiden, rage against the machine, helloween, soundgarden, rammstein, type o negative, korn, rob zombie, uriah heep, pretty much all the "old school bands" but also stuff like pink floyd, golden earring en soft stuff for days when a hangover shows itself.

by the way, to all mod's : still working this f@#%$*-up pc of mine so for now i'm just using what u good people are collecting here, please have faith as i will raise from the ashes (dreammachine!) and share my goodallmighty library of the finest flesh ever to roam the earth and peace will be upon us.
sorry, got carried away there, back to earth and greetings from your ever humble hoochmaster.

Oh right! Thread has been moved, a respectful sub-forum. Let's talk about it, hell yeah. Has anyone heard Metallica's new singles? What do you think of the new music they have been talking for a long time, does it sound like the good old thrashing days or something like st. anger, let's exchange reviews.
